I grew up on a sheep station west of Hay in the Riverina. I attended boarding school for six years, where my English teacher and I met every week for Bible Study despite a lot of teasing from my class mates. I then travelled overseas for twelve months and worked on an island off Scotland for 9 months. It was here that I made my commitment to the Lord. Within two weeks of committing my life to the Lord, I was asked to lead the Sunday morning service at the Church of Scotland, while the minister had to spend time on the mainland!!

I returned to Australia to study at the Orange Ag College in 1990. After gaining my qualifications I stayed on in Orange, working for a local insurance company and was very involved in the Anglican Church. I met my husband and we were married in 1997.

I am also an “oldie’ of Rhema and was a volunteer announcer in the very early days where we had to select each song and juggle two CD players and make sure that there was no dead air time!!

I have always felt a desire to use my voice for the Lord and tried out for the school choir 6 times, but was told I didn’t have what it takes!! I really enjoy the work I do on the radio. I currently fill in for Kerrie when she cannot make it in, and read the Word for Today. I look forward to spending a bit more time with Rhema as my children get older and I have more time available.

PS. With Adventures in Odyssey I often find myself and the kids parked on the side of the road listening to the programme on a Wednesday afternoon. It is a special time for the kids and any grocery shopping is put off until 4.30pm!
