Certificate III in Youth & Community Work (Christian)
From July there will be a new training course available for people in the Central West.
Fusion Australia is now able to offer Certificate III Youth and Community Work (Christian) from its Orange base in the Central West in conjunction with the Fusion Tasmanian Training Centre in Poatina.
It is a nationally accredited, competency-based training course, and there is opportunity for some fieldwork to be undertaken in overseas locations as well as locally and interstate, particularly in 2010. The course includes practical skills in youthwork and community development, as well as an integrated Biblical framework to undergird the praxis. Bev Rankin, who coordinates the course locally, says that the course is designed for those people who want to make a difference in their local community by connecting with young people and families. It provides a unique blend of theory and practical work based in close to 50 years of frontline youthwork in Australia by people in the Fusion organisation.
Fusion, an Australian-born Christian youth and community work organisation, has been operating in Orange for 20 years, and began its work here in 1989 by offering a three month residential youthwork course on a property located in Sheralee Rd. Now this accredited course means that many students are able to obtain Austudy or Youth allowance to support their study.
The next course will commence on July 12, 2009.
